Recap
20/1/2019 Aztec Storm 52 Chiltern Fusion 29
Match Summary
Scores by quarter: 4-3, 18-8, 16-12, 14-6
It was good to face a Chiltern team who had their strongest players back because it made for a much more competitive game. We defended well throughout with the boxing out being noticeably better. Offensively for much of the game we were very static and as a result found it difficult to create good opportunities inside where they defended well. We won the game through a combination of strong defence forcing an increasing number of turnovers for fast-breaks and some periods where the offence really clicked.
Looking forward to the Cup Final next Sunday there are two key things we have to do better – start the game better (more intensity but with composure) and be more dynamic in our offensive play – (faster ball movement, more determined cuts, more aggressive rebounding). We are well capable of all of that.
Scorers were, Jade 18, Reanna 11, Becky 11, Auriol 8, Jenny 4
