Match Summary:
Today was managed by Nynke Upfold, an experienced Storm player and foundational member of the Women’s club assisted by Jeff Skinner and Rebecca Kingston. So I want to firstly say thank you to them today for their time and enthusiasm.
The Suns today started slowly falling behind in the first quarter but with an injection of urgency, the momentum switched in the 2ndquarter and didn’t falter, for the most part, for the rest of the game.
Charlotte (Captain) returned this week from her travels and made a strong impact both in terms of team game and points, hitting 10. The Suns squad is ever growing and there was only need for 1 addition from the Storm in the form of Jade who was a strong factor in the win with 21 points. However those points came from a collective team approach and the group should be proud of the assists and strong game play that these were created from.
Another debut this week came in the form of Tiz Lunigiani, who registered with the club this week. She was dominant from the line and added another 13 to the tally. A warm Aztec’s welcome to Tiz who will be a formidable point guard for the club. It is great to see the Suns squad continuing to grow with Sophie and Tiz joining in quick succession.
Coach Trinder’s Assessment:
As I wasn’t there to witness the game, my last point is in related to the final score which was made up of points from all 7 players. This shows me that we are becoming a team, working together, and always ready to step up and execute in order to get the win.
Next Game:
Next game, and final one before the Christmas break, is Sunday 2ndDecember 3pm at home to league newbies Reading Rockets.
