Wessex Men’s Division 3 League
Farnborough Shadows 87 – 53 Aztec Falcons (21-10; 47-20; 76-34)
Leading scorers:
Ollie Horne 18; Matt Sawyer 14; Matt Blowfield 8
Match summary:
The Falcons suffered another defeat, but the progress the players have shown this season in each game played is very encouraging as they try to improve their personal and team performances at both ends of the court.
With the team exceeding 50 points for the second time and Ollie, Matt and Tony Upfold all recording highest individual scores this season, this was a most promising result.
The players are trying to adapt to some new offensive strategies which, for some, are totally alien, but the opportunities that were created were proof that things are improving. Individuals are becoming more confident to test out their attacking moves in the game, and they are developing technique in important areas such as foul shooting.
Coach Walker’s assessment:
Turn-overs killed us, and not for the first time this season! The aim is to get everyone in the game and give everyone good looks to score but we really must improve in two key areas. We MUST look after the ball and we MUST put the ball in the hole when the opportunities come along.
Next game:
Tuesday 28thNovember at 7:30pm at home to Yateley Silverbacks 3
